1
take sth seriously
sth deserves to be taken more seriously.
The danger posed by heatwaves deserves to be taken more seriously.
School bullying deserves to be taken more seriously.
The prevalence of overweight and obesity deserves to be taken more seriously.
Global warming deserves to be taken more seriously.
2
the preserve of sth
我们平时常说「XX是某人的专利」就可以用sth is the preserve of sb来表达。
Feelings of righteous indignation, it seems, are not the preserve of people alone.
It is no longer the preserve of the pregnant or religious.
Football is no longer the preserve of men.
Air travel is no longer the preserve of the wealthy.
Technology has transformed all aspects of human life. Many goods that were once the preserve of the rich are now household items.
3
There is, however, a silver lining.
There is, however, a silver lining.
Every cloud has a silver lining.
Sometimes dark clouds have silver linings.
Like you just naturally find the silver lining.
No one tries harder than the jobless to find silver linings in this national economic disaster.
There is, however, a silver lining.
There is, however, a silver lining. Greenhouse-gas emissions produced by airplanes plunged.
1. Still, some silver linings can be detected among the clouds.
2. It is not all dark clouds, however.
1.The silver lining may have a cloud attached, however.
2.No silver lining comes without its dark cloud.
1.sth deserves to be taken more seriously.2.sth is no longer the preserve of sb.3.由坏到好:①There is, however, a silver lining.
②Still, some silver linings can be detected among the clouds.
③It is not all dark clouds, however.由好到坏:①The silver lining may have a cloud attached, however.
③No silver lining comes without its dark cloud.
