More Chinese tech firms will collide with geopolitics

将有更多中国科技公司会遭到地缘政治冲突的牵连。

先看标题中的headwind，意思是“ 逆风；顶风”，可以理解为“阻力、曲折、不利因素”等，我们通过以下几个外刊例句来学习其用法：The reforms face strong headwinds. 改革面临强大的阻力。

The question for Alibaba — and for China’s leaders as the trade war grinds on — is how long that strength will last and whether it will be enough to blunt other headwinds.对于阿里巴巴（以及随着贸易战持续，对于中国领导人）来说，问题是这股力量能持续多久，是否足以减弱其他不利因素。(grind on表示“令人厌烦地持续下去”)

当前，经济全球化遇到一些曲折，向我们提出了如何完善全球治理的时代命题。With economic globalization facing headwinds, we must reflect on the important question of how best to improve global governance.

That said, there is no doubt that women face much stronger headwinds than men to get the top jobs. And many of those headwinds remain once they become CEOs.诚然，要想获得最高职位，女性无疑要比男性面临更强大的阻力。其中许多阻力直至她们成为首席执行官之后依然存在。

Huawei, a Chinese telecoms giant, dominated headlines in 2019 as it found itself at the centre of clashes over trade and security. America and its allies do not trust Chinese technology firms that operate under the chinese communist Party"s rule. As those firms get more sophisticated and expand globally, America worries that their products might be subverted by the Chinese state for nefarious purposes.

第一句：①Huawei, ②a Chinese telecoms giant,③ dominated headlines in 2019 ④as it found itself at the centre of clashes over trade and security.

句子结构分析：②是①的同位语，主句核心是Huawei dominated headlines，④是as引导的状语从句;

telecoms giant 电信巨头dominate表示“控制、支配；占优势、在…中占主要地位”；dominated headlines 占据头条；

占据头条也可以说dominate the news 或者把dominate换成其他动词，例如hit/grab/make/capture the headline,都可以表示占据新闻头条、成为热点新闻

外刊例句：Scorsese has recently made headlines for his willingness to call out Marvel’s movie-theater domination.最近斯科塞斯成了新闻热点，因为他主动站出来批评漫威对影院的占领。

clash (with sb) (over sth)：冲突，争论第二句：①America and its allies do not trust Chinese technology firms ②that operate under the chinese communist Party"s rule.

句子结构分析：①是主句，②是that引导的定语从句，修饰限定前面的名字firms；

under sb’s rule 在某人的统治下

第三句：①As those firms get more sophisticated and expand globally,② America worries ③that their products might be subverted by the Chinese state for nefarious purposes.

句子结构分析：①是as引导的状语从句，“随着……”；②是主句的主谓部分，③是that引导的宾语从句，作谓语动词worries的宾语；

Sophisticated用于修饰人物时常表示“见多识广的、老练的、干练的”，形容一些机器、体系等时就表示“复杂巧妙的，先进的、精密的”；在这里企业变得越来越sophisticated，翻译时可以理解为企业的实力越来越强、企业日益强大；expand globally 全球扩张subvert 表示“颠覆，暗中破坏”nefarious /nferis/ ： criminal; immoral 罪恶的；不道德的nefarious activities 罪恶活动
