Comparing apples and oranges is used when a person compares two things that don"t relate to each other
compare apples and oranges是一个人比较两个不相关的事物时使用的
An example would be to compare a job as a nurse to a job as an engineer
一个例子是将护士的工作与工程师的工作进行比较
These two kinds of job have very little in common
这两种工作几乎没有什么共同点
Another example would be to compare writing a book to shopping for clothes

These are unfair comparisons

They are two things that are completely different,or things that can"t be compared to one another

Some languages express this idea in very funny ways
